The Gourmet Story of the Opatija Riviera presents the highlights of the traditional and modern cuisine of numerous restaurants, taverns and small osterie in Opatija, Lovran, Mošćenička Draga and Ičići over the course of six weeks.
From 9 May to 16 June, the following restaurants in Opatija will be offering delicious dishes based on local ingredients: Bianco&nero, Roko, Lungomare (Hotel Savoy), Dopolavoro, Ružmarin, Antica Osteria da Ugo, Argonauti (Hotel Milenij), Evergreen, Vongola, Slatina, Sveti Jakov, Istranka, Camellia (Hotel 4 Opatijska Cvijeta) and the restaurants of the Hotel Palace, Hotel Ambasador and Hotel Kvarner. Other eating establishments that will be taking part in this event are the Ribarnica Volosko Fish Bar and Konoba Valle Losca Tavern in Volosko, the Yacht Club Bistro and Pizzeria Roko in Opatija, the Restaurant Commodore in Ičići, the Lovran Pub and restaurant of the Hotel Excelsior in Lovran, the Al Ponte, Zijavica and Pescaria taverns, the Restaurant Johnson and Sport Grill in Mošćenička Draga, and Pizzeria Sisol in Brseč.
Every Thursday, these 28 venues will be offering special menus based on local ingredients chosen by the chef. In the last week of the event (from 8 to 16 June), one of these ingredients will be sweet cherries, because in this period the Gourmet Story of the Opatija Riviera will include Cherry Days in Lovran (Dani črešanj va Lovrane), a traditional culinary event dedicated to sweet cherries from Lovran, which are known for their special, sweet taste.
The Gourmet Story of the Opatija Riviera will end with the Voloskana Music, Art & Gastronomy festival in Volosko on Saturday 15 June at 18:00, which will fill this fishing village with music, art, and an excellent culinary offering.
