The little tavern of Skalinada, named after its location on the staircase, is of typical Bohemian style. The staircase leads from the "upper road" to the centre of Volosko. The restaurant is small but cosy, the relaxing atmosphere of the space and the attractive garden with vegetables and herbs all add to creativity on the table, the offer mostly consisting of daily fresh food, inspired by Istrian delicacies and an interesting wine list.
Popular traditional dishes such as “jota” (pickled cabbage soup) or “pljukanci” (dumpling-like noodles) have developed into new variants in Skalinada's kitchen, while genuine ingredients are combined into unique taste stories... The restaurant’s specialty is its own-produced olive oil, which can be tasted and purchased.
