The Gorovo Sports Recreation Club is organizing the 14th Croatian Festival of Sports Recreation in Nordic Walking and Hiking, which will take place on April 11, 2026.

The festival is one of the largest sports and recreational events in Croatia, with around 1,500 participants expected from across the country. Participants will take part in hiking and Nordic walking programs along the historic promenades of the town of Opatija.

Participant gathering begins at 9:30 AM at the Open Air Theatre in Opatija, and the official opening ceremony starts at 11:00 AM. In addition to its well-known sports and recreational content, the festival will also include presentations of outdoor activities in Opatija, gastronomy, educational sessions, expanded sports and recreational offerings, and an entertainment program.

At 11:15 AM, the start of the hiking/Nordic walking disciplines will follow.

CARMEN SYLVA ROUTE (8 km, moderately difficult, includes uphill sections; 2.5 h): Lungomare - American Gardens - Carmen Sylva promenade - Marino Cvetković Hall - Lungomare - Summer Stage
VOLOSKO ROUTE (3 km, easy; 1.5 h): Summer Stage - Lungomare - Volosko - Summer Stage
IČIĆI ROUTE (8 km, easy; 2.5 h): Summer Stage - Lungomare - Ičići - Summer Stage
SEA ROUTE (easy, 4 km, approx. 1 h 15 min):
A option: Opatija harbor – boat ride to Ičići – Nordic walking along Lungomare – Summer Stage
B option: Summer Stage – Nordic walking along Lungomare – Ičići – boat ride to Opatija harbor at 12:30 PM
